We are the Robinsons, party of 5! The millennial black family shares everything from marriage to parenthood, to building generational wealth. We are first-generation Nigerian Americans, residing in TX with 3 kids and a Schnoodle called Coco. The family matching is fun and we love to be inspo for others to take family photos. It’s the best feeling looking back at photos to see the growth (and glow!) of our family. That’s why we love it here!
Break it down. Who is who?
Bacari aka BRob. B and I met back in 2011, officially started dating in 2012, engaged in 2014, married in 2015 (like 3 times thanks to Nigerian culture). I often refer to him as ‘B’ and the B is for Bae lol. He’s an engineer by degree but works as a liaison between sales and tech for a sensor company. He is the best husband and dad and we couldn’t imagine life without him leading the household. He never misses the chance to pick Rylie up from the bus, throw Micah in the air or simply smile with Sarai.
Rylie aka RyRy aka RylieRoo
Rylie is the oldest of the Robinson kids. She’s 5 going on 16 and has all the personality in the world. I truly believe a majority of people only follow to see her but it’s cool lol. She’s an amazing big sister and has the biggest heart. She loves to dance and flip around the house.
Micah aka Stink
Our middle and only son. Micah is something special. Not only because he’s neurodivergent and falls on the spectrum, but his smile will literally turn your whole mood around. He’s obsessed with his letters, numbers, popsicles and kissing Sarai. He doesn’t care for shoes or picture sessions so we let him be lol. I plan to share more about being an #AustismMom as I’m learning but I will say, ABA therapy has helped tremendously and I can’t wait to see (and update yall) on his progress in a year.
(PS Micah got this nickname because he used to have the most potent poop diapers. He still does so the name stays)
Our last and sweet princess. We (mostly me) chose to wait until delivery to know the gender of baby Robinson and it was the best thing ever. I wouldn’t do it again because we’re done having kids BUT if we would have done that with Rylie, I would have kept all my pregnancies a surprise. Sarai is super sweet and I can’t wait to see her personality develop as the youngest sibling.
We are living and defining what success, love, and value looks like for us and for society. I call this BLACK EXCELLENCE.
